                                  Week 3 Recap
The first game taken care of was on Tuesday, June 15, the PIMPs vs. the AFK Noobs. It was a pitchers duel throughout the game, but in the end, pitcher Llanes of the PIMPs outdueled Doerr in a close 2-0 win. As all the games are in Doerr Stadium, fielding was a very important aspect. Fielder Johnson of the PIMPs stole a lot of doubles and home runs off the trees, whereas a lot of miscues my Clapp of the Noobs put the game into the PIMPs favor.
The next game was one of immense quality and pitching performance, maybe the best that ever will be in the OWL. Two Wiffle Ballaz, Scott Cluff and Derek DeAndrade, being the slackers that they are, could not make the game, so it was only Benotti (recently elected captain) of the Ballaz vs. three armed and ready Mischief Mafia players. Pat Doerr was an elected fielder, but Benotti didn't need it. He threw a PERFECT GAME in impressive fashion, striking out EVERYONE and putting NO balls into play the whole game. He scored his winning runs off of Kiel Maurath in the second inning. The performance by Benotti may be the best performance ever seen in OWL histiry, maybe the best that ever will be.
The next game was Biggum's Boys vs. The Raiders. It was one of the biggest slugfests of the season, the end score being an astounding 17-15 with the Boys racking up the win. Colin Campbell was a one-man team, literally, giving him tremendous stats hitting. It was also another real bad pitching performance by the raiders, who are making it a task to figure out where they stand pitching wise and do something about it. They don't seem to think it's a big problem, and their hopes and heads are still held high.
The final game of week 3 involved The Gay Bandits and the shorthanded Hamburglars. It was a tough day for the Burglars, having to reley of the rookie lefty work of Jim Sass, who was lit up by Mully (3 HR) and Barkas, before his departure for drivers education. Powerhouse Thornley was found to have a chink in his armor; cut fastballs from lefties. He went a paltry 1-9, but the Bandits prevailed, 5-1.
